Keep our parks fun and safe for everyone. 

 

Grant PUD parks and recreation facilities are owned, operated, and maintained by Grant PUD, or assigned contractor, for public use. Staff, security, and law enforcement have the authority to interpret and enforce all rules.

Failure to comply with Grant PUD rules and regulations or with any other federal, state or local law, rule or regulation may result in eviction/trespassing from any recreation area, and possible prosecution.

  1. No person shall engage in commercial sales or rentals of goods, services, beverages, or food unless permitted by Grant PUD.
  2. Commercial videography and photography use requires written permission and/or permitting from Grant PUD.
  3. Special Use Permits are available to individuals or groups interested in hosting an event on Grant PUD property.

  1. Operating hours are dawn to dusk, unless otherwise posted at the recreation area.
  2. Overnight parking is not allowed, except in designated campgrounds.
  1. Liquor, alcohol, and recreational drugs are not allowed in recreation areas per state law (RCW 66.44.100).
  2. Upon obtaining a Grant PUD Special Use Permit and required state permitting, alcohol exceptions may be allowed for special events consistent with state rules and regulations.
  1. Camping is not allowed outside of campgrounds and/or areas designated by Grant PUD.
  2. Maximum length of stay (in any 30-day period):
    • 10 consecutive nights: April 1 – September 30
    • 20 consecutive nights: October 1 – March 31
  3. Quiet hours: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  4. Drop-in camping payment must be made upon arrival.
    • Unpaid site saving is not allowed
  5. Check in time: 3 p.m.
  1. Checkout time: 1 p.m. Those remaining in a campsite beyond the established checkout time may be charged an additional day’s fee.
    • Upon checkout, all camping equipment and personal property must be removed from the site.
  2. After 6 p.m. unreserved ADA sites are available on a first-come first-served basis for single-night usage only.
  3. Reserved sites must be occupied by 3 p.m. on the second day of the reservation. If occupants do not check in during this grace period and occupy the site for the remainder of the reservation, the site will be forfeited.
  4. Tents are not allowed outside of developed tent pads, with the exception of Priest Rapids Recreation Area.
  5. A maximum of eight (8) people are permitted at a campsite overnight.
  6. Campsites are limited to one recreational vehicle and are not to exceed a total of two vehicles at the same time. For site-specific parking information, visit https://509river.org/camping/.
  1. The following are not allowed:
    • Profane or abusive language.
    • Disorderly conduct towards other park users, camp hosts, security, or staff.
    • Nudity or disrobing on Grant PUD property.
    • Any conduct (conversations, music, pet noise, etc.) at a volume that disturbs the peace of others.
  2. The use of an amplified microphone or music system requires a Special Use Permit from Grant PUD.
  3. No soliciting or interference with park use.
  4. Generators may NOT be operated between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  1. All pets must be kept on a leash.
  2. Do not leave pets unattended.
  3. Exotic pets are not allowed in recreation areas.
  4. Horses and other livestock may be allowed in recreation areas with written permission from Grant PUD.
  5. Any animals displaying aggressive behavior or posing a threat to public safety are subject to removal.
  6. Pets (with the exception of service animals) are not allowed in designated swim areas (including water and beach), playground areas, or in public buildings.
  7. Pet handlers must clean up and dispose of animal waste.
  1. No person shall remove, destroy, injure or deface any facilities, equipment, landscaping, natural formations, historical and archaeological features, vegetation, or native animals.
  2. Digging, disturbing, leveling of ground or the construction of any structure is not allowed.
  3. Posting signs, posters, advertisements, decorations, notices, or anything similar on any tree, shrub, fence, railing, post, piling, or structure is not allowed.
  1. Fires are only allowed in designated fire rings provided within campgrounds. Propane firepits, barbecues or other portable stoves are allowed.
  2. Grant PUD reserves the right to implement seasonal burn bans at specified recreation areas. Restrictions are reflected on-site with signage and fire ring covers.
  3. Fires shall not be left unattended and must be completely extinguished prior to departure. Hot coals may only be disposed of in fire rings and grills.
  4. Cutting or disturbing trees, shrubs, or other vegetation for firewood is not allowed.
  5. Driftwood may be used as firewood within fire rings.
  6. Burning wood is not allowed in recreation area charcoal grills.

  2. Hunting and trapping are not allowed within the Public Recreation Development land use classification.
  3. Hunting is allowed within the Resources Management and Project Facilities classifications unless access is prohibited for Project operations and/or security; look for gates and signage.
  4. State and federal hunting regulations always apply. 
  1. No person shall possess, discharge, or set off fireworks, explosives or explosive devices of any kind in or into any recreation area.
  2. Fireworks shows may be authorized by obtaining a Grant PUD Special Use Permit.
  1. All state laws regarding weapons and firearms always apply.
  2. Weapons and firearms must be safely stored and not left unattended on public property (RCW 9.41.360).
  3. No person shall discharge a weapon across, in, or into any recreation area.
  1. Garbage or any other waste material shall be either removed from the recreation area or deposited in garbage cans.
  2. RV waste shall not be disposed of at recreation areas unless sewage hookups are available.
  3. No disposal or dumping of household or commercial garbage, personal property, dead animals, or yard debris on Grant PUD property or adjoining water bodies.
  4. No cleaning, washing, or performing maintenance on automobiles or other vehicles within a recreation area.
  5. Do not dispose of fish remains in garbage receptacles, designated swim areas, or boat basins. The carcasses can be deposited back into the waterbody from which they were caught.
  1. Activities that may harm people, personal property, or park facilities are not allowed. These activities include but are not limited to:
    • Golf (excluding designated golf courses), baseball, soccer, flight of model airplanes, or anything that results in fast-moving airborne objects or projectiles.
    • The operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones) is not allowed on or from Grant PUD property.
  2. Metal detectors are not allowed.
  3. Collection of artifacts, petrified wood, plants, and animals are not allowed.
  4. Panning for gold or other minerals is not allowed.
  5. Small shells, driftwood, and rocks not embedded in the soil or riverbed may be collected by hand for personal use. No shovels or excavation.
  1. Marine facilities are only to be used for loading or unloading of watercraft (30 minutes maximum unless otherwise posted.)
  2. Moorage of commercial vessels is limited to 15 minutes for the purpose of loading and unloading, unless authorized under a Grant PUD concessionaire agreement for commercial lease.
  3. Use of marine facilities shall be on a first-come, first-served basis. Reserving or retaining space to moor a vessel at a Grant PUD facility is not allowed.
  4. Permanent buoys are not allowed without a permit. For permit application, visit Grant PUD: Shoreline Management.
  5. Temporary buoys are allowed but must be removed when the watercraft is not present.
  1. No swimming in any boat launch, moorage facility, or other areas designated for watercraft uses.
  2. No jumping or diving into any body of water located within a Grant PUD Recreation Area.
  3. Glass containers are not allowed in designated swim areas, on the shoreline, or beaches due to public safety hazards.
  4. Swim at your own risk. No lifeguards on duty.
  1. Allowed: all pedaled bikes (including E-bikes), non-motorized wheeled devices, and pedestrians.
  2. Not allowed: motorized vehicles (electric or fuel powered) and horses.
  3. Stay on designated trails
  4. Obey signage
  5. Pass on the left, slower traffic has the right of way. Make presence known when passing.
  1. Speed shall not exceed 15 miles per hour in recreation areas unless otherwise posted.
  2. Must stay on roads, developed trails, and pathways within recreation areas. Stay off the grass.
  3. Operators must obey signage, posted speed limits, and pavement markings.

Boat Launch Water Levels

A number of our recreation areas have public access boat launches. Below is the current water level at each launch. River level data updates every hour.
