There are also plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in the area, such as hiking, bird watching, fishing, and boating. The campground is conveniently located near various hiking trails, and of course, the fishing opportunities along the Columbia River are not to be missed.  You might expect to catch chinook salmon, sockeye salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, walleye and bass while fishing in this area.

The campground offers 10 basic campsites, each with a picnic table and grill for your convenience. Trailers are allowed, as long as they fit within the campsite parking spot, with a maximum length of 40 feet. So be sure to bring plenty of drinking water and refillable containers. Additionally, always follow the “Leave No Trace” principles and pack out everything you bring in, including trash and waste.

When it comes to safety, be aware of the water currents in the Columbia River and take proper precautions when fishing or swimming. Wear life jackets when boating or engaging in water activities, and never leave children unattended near the water.

Remember to be safe when fishing, always be aware of your surroundings and watch your step, especially when near water. Slippery rocks, uneven ground, and hidden obstacles can all be hazards when fishing, and it’s important to take precautions to avoid slips, trips, and falls.

It’s always a good idea to check fishing regulations and rules before heading out to fish in any new area, to ensure that you’re in compliance with local laws and guidelines. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) website is a great resource for information on fishing regulations and rules in Washington State, including the Upper Hanford Reach area where Jackson Creek Fish Campground is located.

Beautiful Riverside Camping... In the Columbia Basin with river access and a nearby designated swimming area. Campsites are close together, but very well maintained and easily accessible from the highway. No potable water, but there are restrooms that were clean and seemed to be well maintained. Can be a bit windy, but the views, river access, convenience and low price made up for any of the other concerns for me.

Beautiful Secluded Desert with Wide Open Sky...It’s a nice, secluded desert with wide open sky. Nice place for the dogs. A few people came and went throughout the day to walk around a bit but it’s very quiet. It’s just a few miles from where I live so I tried it to practice using solar etc. great cell service but I couldn’t figure out my wi fi ranger. No firepits but we used the standing grill and it was fine.
